RARE Late Baroque 17th Century Flamed Heart Ring in high carat gold
This Late Baroque beauty is truly a once in a lifetime find. With her 22k gold, filigree & luscious pear shaped rosecut garnet this excellent collectors item has the incredible age of almost 350 years old which makes her a true 17th century gem. What’s most unique about this piece is that it is contains a literal timestamp (hallmark), which is extremely uncommon for pieces from this period. This rare ring is Dutch and marked with the year letter ‘R’ for the year 1685, has a town mark for the city Dordrecht, and a maker’s mark for goldsmith Dirk Brugman.
Even though we deal mainly vintage and antiques pieces it rarely happens that we find a piece of jewellery that is so well hallmarked as this example. And not only does it bare clearly recognisable hallmarks it's also of an age and high quality that we hardly ever have!
