Her journey as an antique jewelry collector began with her engagement ring, which is a contemporary piece made out of recycled metal after a ring model of 1905. Christina and her husband were searching for an engagement ring but couldn't find anything that truly caught their eye. They stumbled upon Hofer Antikschmuck and found her stunning engagement ring that tells its own story.
"I was completely fascinated by the stories, the sparkle and the uniqueness of the pieces," Christina says. Her first real antique piece was the tiara bangle in rose gold with diamonds and a sapphire in the middle. Christina had admired this bangle for quite some time, but one day, it was sold. She was heartbroken, but her husband surprised her by telling her that he had purchased it for her.
Another special piece in Christina's collection is her Child&Child wing brooch. She discovered the wing brooch from Child & Child in the archives of Hofer Antikschmuck and made a promise to herself to buy it the next time she came across one. Christina's collection is not just a collection of items, but a reflection of her personal journey and growth. She loves to adorn herself with her antique jewelry and share the stories behind each piece.
The lion ring is another meaningful piece in Christina's collection. It represents strength and reminds her of Venice. She also has a Flora-cameo purchased in Venice that holds a special place in her heart. Christina's collection continues to evolve over time, and she strives to make thoughtful purchases of pieces that attract her for a long time, not just in the moment.
"Buy what touches your heart," Christina advises other collectors. "Don’t jump on trends and don’t try to make safe investments. Neither the trends nor the safe investments will make you as happy as a piece that touched your heart." Christina's collection is not just a collection of jewelry, but a representation of her personal journey and the memories and stories behind each piece.
